´66 type 2

Más novedades en la ´66 de Lee, el compartimento del motor ya está pintado y preparado.

La caja modificada con sus guardapolvos, sinenbloks y valvulina nueva!

More work on the Lee ´66, a nice clean detailed engine bay, ready for the straightaxel gearbox fresh boots, gearbox mounts and fresh gearbox oil!

El motor 1600 se la ha dado un buen repaso y tambien se ha montado un kit de carburadores, unos Scat de 40mm simple cuerpo, tambien ya que estamos se ha pintado las chapas de motor incluyendo la nueva campana de 30Cv, si vas a montar los carburadores Scat lo recomendamos!

The engine has also received a good service and some twin carbs in this case, we have gone for the Scat 40 single chokes kit, also we have used a 30hp style fanhousing, we recomend this if you are going for this kit!

Por fin el motor y el tren trasero todo en su sitio y casi listo para la temporada 2010. Queda la chapa y pintura por terminar y darle su nuevo look!

At last we have the engine and gearbox in place, its nearly readuy for the 2010 season,
We have a bit of bodywork to sort out but hopefully that will be done soon!

Más novedades con la ´66 T2 de Lee. Ha llegado el momento de quitar las reductoras y cambiar la caja de cambios por la de un escarabajo.

El motivo de ésta modificación es eliminar las reductoras y al mismo tiempo darle una bajada de suspensión. Con ésta modificación también podemos apreciar el nuevo motor que se está montando.

Update on Lee ´66 type 2, he is doing a straight axel conversion as he is on a budget he is keeping it simple, hopefully at a later date an IRS conversion will be done but for now at least he can make the most of the rebuilt 1600 twin carb engine and at the same time get the Type 2 nearer to the tarmac.

Para ésta modificación hemos usado una caja de cambios 1300 de un escarabajo
de los 70, tiene que ser posterior al 67 por el tema de los tubos ya que son los largos.
Para un motor 1600 las relaciones de la caja funcionan bien.
Para poder montar la caja hay que aprovechar la nariz de la caja original.

For this modification we have used a post ´66 1300 beetle swing axel gearbox, the axel shafts have to be the long type, for a 1600 engine the gear ratios will work.

To fit the beatle gearbox we use the nose con from the original type 2 gearbox.

En ésta ocasión hemos utilizado los frenos traseros de un tipo 181, de ésta manera podemos mejorar los frenos y mantener el 5/205 PCD, aprovechamos de paso para darle un buen limpiado y pintado al nuevo tren trasero.

We have used type 181 rear drums, they were fitted with no modification so we have better braking and still keep 5/205 PCD. It would be rude not to give the box a clean and detail before fitting.
